A Night Around The Tree & A Promise To Keep…

Hallmark just released it’s list of Christmas movies. I’m so giddy with excitement that I decided to whip out my latest Christmas book set in the Moroccan Mountains. Do you know that it snows there? Yes snow in the Northern part of Africa. Check out a sample from my book A Promise Fulfilled.

Noel” played softly from the Pandora streaming service as the four of them gathered around the lit Christmas tree. The cookies and beverages were long gone and Kojo had just finished reading and explaining Luke 18.

He leaned on the door frame of the kitchen and observed the three people he loved dearly interact. Anisa was putting the cookies on a plate, while Kwame held the napkins and Yasmine balanced the cups of mint tea, cocoa and milk on a tray.

After the first day of observation, Kwame had opened up to the DuBois-Arazis. Grandma Olly made sure he called her Nana and Yasmine’s siblings spoiled him as well. The day he and Yasmine got stuck in Ifrane, Kwame and Anisa had both slept at Salma’s house. His son couldn’t stop talking about all the fun things he and Nisa, as he called Anisa, had done.

Jesus, this is what I long for. I know with Yasmine, I have my work cut out for me. But this Christmas season, do me a solid and soften that woman’s heart.

“If you’re done daydreaming, we could use your presence,” Yasmine said.

Kojo walked to her and took the tray from her. “Don’t you want to know what I was daydreaming about?”

She studied him for a moment, and glanced back at the kids who were setting up around the tree. She turned back to him and shook her head. “With that look on your face, nope.”

“Your loss, baby.”

“Somehow I doubt that.”

“Come on, Mummy, we’re ready,” Anisa yelled.

“Yes, Mummy, come on,” Kojo mimicked.

Yasmine rolled her eyes at him. “So childish.”

He laughed at her. He was going to loosen her up and win her over if it was the last thing he did.
