My Musings

The Preferred Blue Print

lifepurposeI’ve been studying the book of Ephesians this month. I know there are only a few chapters but I am studying not just reading. And I’ve been in chapter 4 for a couple of days now and I am stuck in there. And I wanna tell you the reason why I find the chapter so inspiring…

I have said this so many times before, if you do not know your calling, for develop your passion and it will lead you there. You don’t have a choice on whether to do this or not because on no account should your life be made up of random, unorganized tasks each day. Your purpose, your calling gives your life meaning.

In Ephesians 4, Paul advises us to walk, better still run toward our calling…  “In light of all this, here’s what I want you to do. While I’m locked up here, a prisoner for the Master, I want you to get out there and walk—better yet, run!—on the road God called you to travel. I don’t want any of you sitting around on your hands. I don’t want anyone strolling off, down some path that goes nowhere. And mark that you do this with humility and discipline—not in fits and starts, but steadily, pouring yourselves out for each other in acts of love, alert at noticing differences and quick at mending fences.”

With that in mind, what goals have you set for yourself to do this?  I love late Dr. Munroe’s definition of goals,”they form the preferred flight plan to the desired destination(purpose).” He also said “They are those things that create your priorities, determine your decisions, dictate your companions and predict choices.”

Once you wake up everyday, what you give focus to, the decisions you make, those you hang out with and the choice you make should all center around what God has called you to do. It’s serious business.

I want to remind you today, it’s never to late to start living in your calling. For those of you who are, during your race, keep persevering. We can’t achieve our calling by stepping over people…we run this race in obedience with humility, love, discipline and forgiveness.

So from the beginning of the year until now, how are you doing? Are you running towards your calling everyday?

Be Blessed

  1. um first allow me to figure out what my calling is outside of being obedient and faithful. Then I can move forward in my calling.

    1. hi Missy, your calling, leads you to your purpose. If you dont know what that is, find your passion. Passion is defined as “the active vibrant expression of individual gifting or talents that empower you to fulfil your God- given purpose.”by Late Dr. MylesMunreo
