#MotivationMonday See It. Dream It. Be It.

sexy and beautiful woman in the seaGood Monday Morning!

It’s a new day and a new chance to make a difference. This weekend I did a lot of things, one among them was watch the Essence #BlackWomenInHollywood luncheon. This is a yearly event, however it had never been televised until this year. Oprah Winfrey graciously televised it on OWN TV.

I cried, cheered and was in awe of the awesomeness of the ceremony. If you follow me, by now you should know that I firmly believe that we were all created by God for a purpose. I think He comes up with the plan( dream, purpose) then reaches back and picks a body then wraps it around that purpose…LOL. Just like a factory plant. Anyway, I say this to say that the women I watched are all living their dreams and purposes but it didn’t come easy. Here are a few quotes I found powerful

“I dreamed the biggest dream I could find.”~ Viola Davis

“Our fears can be our greatest liberators”~ Gugu Mbatha Raw (Belle, Beyond The Lights)

“We all experience fear but courage is moving fiercely through that fear”~ Regina King

“Stop waiting for permission” ~Ava DuVernay

“For every no, the mere existence of ….. Should give you hope. (feel in the blank with the person you admire, a mentor) ~Iman Milner

Be Blessed.

It’s In The Crushing

Wow…it’s December 1st. Wasn’t it just January. It didn’t seem that long that we ushered in the New Year. Well, like it or not it has whizzed by. I hope this year has been all that you hoped it would be. Even if it didn’t go exactly according to plan, there’s still a lot to be thankful for. We are alive and with that there is hope. I like to call it confident expectation that His promises will surely come to pass.

That reminds me…in 2015 by the grace of God, I hope to bring you a series about confident expectations. Real briefly, it will focus on the question that asks the question..”I have found my purpose, now what?” Your purpose gives meaning to your vision but there is a process to get there. How do we stay steadfast through the ups and downs?

Speaking of ups and downs, as we move into the final stretch of the year, I want to encourage you to keep the faith and know that any attacks against you are not personal. The enemy just wants to halt what’s in you that you’re meant to give to the world. Perseverance is key.

Just like you have to crack the egg to fry it, or squeeze the orange for the juice or crush the olive for the olive oil…you will also undergo some kind of pain but we are called to endure. Paul said it best when he said in 2 Corinthians 4 vs 8 & 9 We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair.  We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.

It is well and God is definitely in control. Have a blessed week.

The Key To Success? Fan The Flames

It’s Sunday morning and we are getting ready to go to church. The kids are eating breakfast and hubby and I are about to have our early morning cup of tea. I hand him his cup and I sit down to mine. He takes one sip, makes a face then askes, “Babe, no sugar?”

I tasted mine and it was just fine. Just the right amount of milk and sugar. The way I like it. Then it occurred to me, I added everything to his that I did to mine but I forgot to stir it. I stood, walked back to the kitchen and got a spoon. “I did put sugar, sorry I forgot to stir it.”

He stirred it, took a sip and it was just right. Like mine, the full potential of the tea came out and was able to do his taste buds justice just as mine had done for me.Inside each on of us is a gift. A special gift that God has placed inside of us to be used to fulfill our purpose. In case you are wondering with all this purpose talk going around, purpose is simply the reason why you were created.

If you do not stir up the gifts inside you, there is no way you can find that thing that you were called to do and pursue it with the passion it deserves. This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. 2nd Timothy 1:6-7

Paul tells us to FAN the flames. I’m telling you to stir the pot. The only way to do this and get the right results is by intimacy with Jesus. Ask Him to show you the way. And when you get an answer, your charge is to move! Step boldly into what you are called to do. When you get to where you can’t move any more…God steps in. But none of this will be possible if you don’t fan the flames of your spiritual gifts.

Failure to stir your pot can often times lead to resentment of those that stir theirs. I would like to encourage you today not to succumb to fear which has a tendency to hold us back. Be intentional about fanning the flames of your spiritual gifts so that you can live a life that is meaningful successful life.

Completion and fulfillment of the purpose for which you were created is the real KEY to Success.~Dr. Myles Munroe
