Faith To Charge

Top of the morning to you!

Another work week and by the time you’re reading this I’ll probably be on my way to work. Why do I work? Well like 98% of the people in America, I work to pay my bills and take care of my family. Now, I also work to fund my business. How do I do all this? With money of course. So bi weekly I expect my funds in the bank. I got things to do 🙂

Payday comes and I walk confidently to the store and stack up on everything my family would need. After I’m done, I walk boldly the cashier and stand back while she/he does their thing. You know how this goes, I hand my debit card over, pay & leave. And the cycle continues.

You notice my key words: work, expect, confident, stand back. Okay, recently I have personally been convicted about what I’m about to tell you in an area of my life. In a previous post I talked about the faith perspective, and shifting my perspective, it’s a daily struggle. Daily we have to be renewed in Spirit. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God and without it, it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God.

As a believer of Jesus Christ, we should have rest. We are promised rest. What is rest? Rest is that state of believing that it is finished. It is a realm where you are no longer “worried”. Hebrews 4:3 “For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said,…” Key word believe! My pastor says Grace + Faith = Rest. Despite his sin (he repented and was therefore wiped clean) David was called a man after God’s heart because he believed God.

Your belief charts the course and affects your expectation. So what do you believe? Do you believe that You are saved by grace through faith? Do you believe in the promise to us in the Bible? Do you believe that He is not a man that He shall lie?

If you do…then, just like we have the faith to charge our credit cards and believe there is money in there to take care of our needs (because we did what should bring us money). We should have faith to confidently expect that He would do what He says He would do in EVERY aspect of our life.

Jesus himself said in Mathew 21:22 “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” Also Hebrews 10:36 tells us “You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.”

What are you believing God for? Don’t be like Moses and strike the rock when God only told him to speak to it. His disobedience caused him the promised land and was rooted in unbelief and impatience.

Be Blessed

  1. The analogy between walking into the supermarket handing over our card to pay for the groceries KNOWING w/out a doubt we will get the groceries, take them home and share with our family is a faith in the Lord I work on everyday.
How is your Ephesians reading going. I just finished reading Haggai.
