Hey everyone,
Hope you had a very Merry Christmas. I sure did. I’m normally not a last minute gal but I have been so engrossed in finishing the first draft of my upcoming novel Amarachi and promoting The Christmas Ultimatum that I totally just let the stuf pile up.
Gifts were wrapped on the 22nd, Christmas dinner was not planned till the 23rd. The we went shopping, got the ranch dressing forgot the salad, also forgot the flour for homemade gravy… I thought people were going to go hungry. But it all came together in the end. Largely due to my hubby and mom who is visiting with my dad from Nigeria. I would never forget this Christmas…it was fab. Even my birthday which is on the 24th was memorable. Didn’t do much. I never do, just a lot of reflection but to have my parents here was the icing on the cake. Oh yes I did… my mom, my daughter and I baked cookies.
Christmas Day: Everyone was gathered round the tree to open presents while watching the Disney Parks Parade, my kids were ecstatic…but I’m nervous, will I like my gift, but then thwe thought is what counts( yeah right 🙂 I ripped mine open and my hubby got me a Kindle Fire HD 8.9. aaaaaaahhhhhhhhh perfect!! I’m so stuck in my ways with paperbacks that he says I need to get in with the ‘new’.In my opinion, nothing can compare to the smell of paper and flipping pages but I’m willing to give this a try.
In all the hoopla and celebration I know I have been bad. I haven’t written a lick. Not a letter, or a word or constructed a sentence since the 20th… I feel awful. Even though I’m my own boss I have deadlines and goals, not writing for 7 days is gonna put me way behind unless I burn the midnight oil for a couple of days.
But oh well its the holidays 🙂
