Isaiah 43:18-19 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
It’s a 2013!!! By God’s grace we made it, thank God for seeing us through. The God that brought you forth to another year has plans for you. He is not done with you yet, your work on ear6th is not yet done. It’s a new beginning, another chance to reach your goals, a fresh start at tapping into our God given passions and using the gifts He has bestowed upon us.
It’s a New Year, all the former things, disappointment, betrayals, struggles and impossibilities are left behind and now we will embrace the new. He said that we shouldn’t dwell on the past……the baggage’s, grudges, annoyances of the past should be left there. I have a tradition of reflecting over the past year on every New Year’s Eve, my reflections is not out of regret but that’s how I purge the mistakes and not so pleasant events of the past year from my head. The process also makes my heart more grateful for the things the Lord has done in my life. I strongly believe that the past shapes your future it is unrealistic to live absolute of your past, however the trick is to use what it is you have learnt or gone through and MOVE ON. Dwelling on the past is a very dangerous task as it blurs all the good things that can come your way if you just let go.
Thus says the LORD I am doing a NEW thing…..it will spring up, do you perceive it. Only when you have clarity can you perceive it and when you perceive it then you can receive it. He said that He will make a way in the wilderness and streams (not drops of water) but streams in the desert(wasteland). Now that is a comforting promise right there and the only ways we can receive it is to be of a clear heart.
