Hey there!
So decided to do something a little different today. The release of my upcoming sports romance. Beyond the Touchline is almost here and I wanted to share more about the book.
As you can see from the title, I’m focusing on other things besides romance. Yes, it’s a love story. But this book offers more than kisses and chemistry. Don’t get it twisted, my signature style is still present but…

If you’re here for rich layers and real growth, you’re in for a ride. Here’s what else you’ll find:
- Faith without fluff: No preachy sermons, no soapboxes. Just real people navigating real mess, trusting God in imperfect ways.
- Fathers and forgiveness: From complicated legacies to long-overdue apologies… this story explores what it means to be seen, shaped, and sometimes scarred by the men who raised us.
- A heroine who can bench-press your assumptions: LOL. Idara is smart, strategic, and softer than she looks. But please know she’s not here to shrink for anybody.
- Nigerian culture done right: Of course, you know this by now, but it bears repeating. From language and family dynamics to fashion, food, and the subtle art of “you will not disgrace me,” the culture isn’t a backdrop… it’s the heartbeat.
- An emotionally unavailable athlete who meets his match: Ehi has been guarding his peace like it is gold, until someone shows him love doesn’t always mean exposure.
Not every love story is about flowers and fireworks.
Some begin in frustration. Sarcasm. Unsent messages.
Some start slow… because the characters have healing to do.
💬 Their first text exchange wasn’t flirty, it was friction.
But sometimes tension is just recognition in disguise.

QQ: Which non-romantic plotline pulls you in most when you’re reading a love story? Faith, family drama, personal growth, or healing from past hurt?
👇 Tell me in the comments. What hits home for you?

Till next time

Oh yea! I want to read this!
Family drama, faith & healing from past hurts pulls me in the most when reading a love story. Those plotlines both explain why characters are the way they are & it pushes the story along as the characters put in the work to overcome, imo.
I agree too. These people gotta be three dimensional for me to care.
😆They have to be “3” dimensional? 2 or 4 won’t suffice? 🙂
You know what I’m sayin’..lol
Yes, I do. It was just funny how you said it. I’m only being “mouthy”, I’ll leave you be…🤭
lol…
The plot line that pulls me in is the healing from past hurt. I love seeing how authors build the depth of characters by their experiences.
then this is your jam!
Totally looking forward to diving into this one 😊
yay!
Anticipating already.
Will this be available in paperback? I’m still trying to find platforms to access your books here in Nigeria, every platform I’ve seen requests for payment in dollars and well I live in Nigeria.
Yes, this will be in paperback, and you can read online via Selar..I’ll upload the first book to Selar this weekend. Thank you for your patience. I do have a few paperbacks at Bookpeddler NG.
