#MotivationMonday:He Won’t Take It Back

Hey there! Seems like it’s been ages. How is everyone doing on this Monday morning. Can I be real? I’m tired. LOL. The past few weeks I’ve been on a roller coaster ride. Well it’s always like that the first couple of weeks of the year but I’m still not used to it. See I do tax prep for my day job and it’s a pretty big deal. Coupled with the fact that I had to finish the manuscript for my upcoming book HE CHANGED MY NAME..phew!Well both are done by God’s grace and I can breathe again.

The gifts of God are irrevocableRomans 11-29

How are your goals going for the month. Please tell me you made goals and not resolutions…LOL. If you haven’t made goals, it’s not too late to do them. Sometimes we feel that we have wasted a lot of time and it is too late to start. But it’s never too late to use the gifting and walk in the purpose God has called you to.

The other day I picked up my shoe to gently nail in a tack to the wall to hang a picture. My footwear didn’t automatically stop being footwear because I used it as a hammer. Neither did the hammer lose its ability to be a hammer because I didn’t use it.

If you aren’t using them yet, your gifts still lie dormant within you. The gifts and calling God gives us are without repentance. He doesn’t change His mind because we are disobedient or delayed. He will not take your gift away if you don’t use them but make no mistake, He does expect us to be faithful and fruitful.

So don’t wait another minute to stir up your gifts and begin developing strategies on how to use them to give God a return on His investment. If you want to walk out God’s plan for your life, it’s time to stir up that gift within you!

Be Blessed.

The Key To Success? Fan The Flames

It’s Sunday morning and we are getting ready to go to church. The kids are eating breakfast and hubby and I are about to have our early morning cup of tea. I hand him his cup and I sit down to mine. He takes one sip, makes a face then askes, “Babe, no sugar?”

I tasted mine and it was just fine. Just the right amount of milk and sugar. The way I like it. Then it occurred to me, I added everything to his that I did to mine but I forgot to stir it. I stood, walked back to the kitchen and got a spoon. “I did put sugar, sorry I forgot to stir it.”

He stirred it, took a sip and it was just right. Like mine, the full potential of the tea came out and was able to do his taste buds justice just as mine had done for me.Inside each on of us is a gift. A special gift that God has placed inside of us to be used to fulfill our purpose. In case you are wondering with all this purpose talk going around, purpose is simply the reason why you were created.

If you do not stir up the gifts inside you, there is no way you can find that thing that you were called to do and pursue it with the passion it deserves. This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. 2nd Timothy 1:6-7

Paul tells us to FAN the flames. I’m telling you to stir the pot. The only way to do this and get the right results is by intimacy with Jesus. Ask Him to show you the way. And when you get an answer, your charge is to move! Step boldly into what you are called to do. When you get to where you can’t move any more…God steps in. But none of this will be possible if you don’t fan the flames of your spiritual gifts.

Failure to stir your pot can often times lead to resentment of those that stir theirs. I would like to encourage you today not to succumb to fear which has a tendency to hold us back. Be intentional about fanning the flames of your spiritual gifts so that you can live a life that is meaningful successful life.

Completion and fulfillment of the purpose for which you were created is the real KEY to Success.~Dr. Myles Munroe

My God Pass Am

stock-footage-black-woman-with-cold-blowing-nose-into-tissueY’all know I have been doing too much lately.  Kids are back to school, hubby is on location shooting a movie( more about that later), working and still trying to get the first draft to my second novel finished.

My daughter has been having the sniffles and I should have known that with me running around so much, and not taking precautions,  my immunity would be low. I knew it, I knew it but ignored that tugging in my spirit. Trying to be superwoman..LOL.

Well last night it all came to a head. The kids were in bed and I started to write, all of a sudden I started having chills, then the sneezing, then the shortness of breath. Oh no! I had caught the cold bug and it didn’t come alone. My throat was sore as well. I took some medicine and went to lay down. For the first time in months I was in bed by 9 p.m.

This morning I didn’t feel like going through the motions of getting the kids ready for church , so I stayed in bed. Here comes my daughter, “Mummy, today is Sunday. Remember a long time ago you said that I can wear my new watch to school and church?” she asked with excitement.

I sat up in bed and accessed her.”Yeah, baby I remember.”

“Well today is Sunday…yay!” she ran out of my room with her little brother in tow.

Although her reason is warped( we’ll deal with that later) It was clear that she had a motive for going to church and her sniffles or cough didn’t stop the excitement.

So it would have been for me if today was Monday. Because I needed my paycheck I would have packed myself with all kinds of medication to make myself comfortable but I would have gone to work. And be on time too.

This laziness or weakness in doing what I had to do and go to church was the devil’s way of trying to stop me from hearing the word God had for me.  Not like I was seriously ill, I just have a cold.  But as my people would say “God pass am”. Cos I got myself together and we went to church. And I’m glad we did.

My word for the day?

God does not give us anything(dream, vision, destiny) that He hasn’t allotted time for us to fulfill.

If God has placed the vision in your heart, whenever you get it, that’s when its time for you to begin. Don’t compare where you are in doing God’s work with the next person. Everyone has been given their assignment and He has allotted time for you to finish it.  The most important thing is that you are moving towards the fulfillment of your destiny. Putting one foot in front of the other trusting and believing His Word.

We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith;~ Romans 12:6

Back home, I’m  under the covers, with my cup of tea but that’s my flesh. My spirit is filled and I can face anything. Now that, I needed.
