#MotivationMonday~ The Lion Mentality

Happy Monday morning. How was your weekend? I don’t really have any elaborate story to tell but just a few scriptures to remind you of… I decided to caption this post the Lion Mentality.

The lion as you and I know eats ONLY meat. No matter what’s going on in that jungle, he is going to find some meat to eat. Now that you can take to the bank!!

We are called to have dominion…”God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” Genesis 1:28

To fully take dominion, you have to believe in the authority we are given in Christ Jesus. But don’t be deceived, it is not just about waving the name of Jesus around. With authority comes responsibility.

What area of influence had God given you? Are you being an agent of change? Or are you being changed? Just like the lion, as a believer, you have to stay rooted in who you are…..a representative of God’s kingdom on earth.

It’s not easy in the world we live in…BUT….Everything we need to transform the culture and cause the lost to be drawn to Him has been made available to us—favor, creativity, power, wisdom.

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.~ Isaiah 41:10

5 Things Stopping You..

img-nanowrimo-typewriter1-300x198Hi y’all, let me start off by saying that I didn’t write this. I will say however that when I read it, it seemed the writer was in my brain when she did.  I started writing my book in 2006 but I can definitely say that all of the reason listed and more where the reason I stopped. Year after year, I kept putting it off till the little hospital incident I told you about.

So if you are reading this, let this be your wake up call…….

“Don’t let another year go by without getting started on your very own book!

There are many reasons why you have not gotten started. Don’t let anything stop

you now. You need to identify what is holding you back and begin working to reach

your goal. Take a look at this list and see if you see yourself in any of these reasons.

1. Fear – You are scared of what people might think of you as an author, and you may be hesitant to share personal information with the world.

2. Lack of Knowledge – You simply don’t know how to get started or how to be successful.

3. Lack of Support – Your family and friends may not encourage you as much as you would like but they just may not understand how important it is to you.

4. Lack of Resources – You have not found a cost effective way to get your book published.

5. Procrastination – You keep putting off writing until later, and the years keep passing.”
