Happy New Years.

As I write this, its about 8:56 pm EST so technically it’s not 2019 yet. However in my homeland, Nigeria and other places, it is. 🙂

Happy New Year 2019 Greeting Card

I want to share with you this verse from Paul “Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14

Let go of the bad habits and trash of 2018 and embrace the New Year with everything you got. We’re in this race together.

Peace & Blessings,

Being Extraordinary Together… Or Not?

One of the things I loved about #BlackPanther was the strength of the women. Their strength wasn’t out of anger or bitterness but the passion behind their purpose. It’s the same strength the heroine’s in all of my stories posses. The main characters, male & female are always about their business. Either in entertainment, sports or entrepreneurship.

Just like I and my husband are building our entertainment business together in real life. I like my couples to help each other excel in their individual passions/ businesses/ministry or careers.

In my latest novel To Live Again this was also the case. You’ll meet Osaro Ikimi who is majority owner of RoMac Technologies LLC and Itohan Adolo who runs her own photography business, Hans Shots and also substitutes as a second grade teacher.

When you’re in a relationship for the long haul, one of the vital keys of success is to contribute to each other’s happiness. Notice I didn’t say make each other happy. Why? Because, no one should be responsible for your happiness but you. However when you get into a relationship that’s going to be long lasting,  it’s your job to help your partner achieve his or her life dreams and goals.

Your dreams and goals are part of your individuality and maintaining that in partnership is vital. A real king or queen will give their partner room to love them and pursue their passion/purpose at the same time. The goal is to be extraordinary together.

What happens when Itohan quest for revenge and Osaro’s goals go head to head? Find out in To Live Again

That Thing Called Pride…

How dare they? Me? Me? Do you they not know who I am?

Those are the immediate thoughts that run through the most righteous mind when wronged. Depending on the atrocity of the other, a plan for revenge begins to build. They did this to me? Ok I will show them.

“How dare he return me like a cheap bag of potatoes? Me? Any you want me to overlook that? You tell me to thank God I dodged a bullet? Thank Him for what? A broken heart, a wounded pride? A disgraced family? Well, I have nothing to be thankful for.”~ Itohan

Those are the words of the heroine, Itohan Adolo, in To Live Again. In the heat of the moment she bares her soul in a heart wrenching rant. Is she able to control the actions that follow or will she be plunged into a web revenge so tangled that she asks the question…was it worth it?

Pride deceives and is rooted in the arrogance to believe that we have control over our future. Thereby elevating us to a god-like status.

Here are some ways we can overcome prideful thoughts that can often lead us to trouble if it festers.

  1. Repent & turn the opposite direction

2. Meditate on the word of God and trust in His Sovereignty.

3. Sit in the lowly seat & learn the benefits of humility.

Find out what happens to Itohan & her prideful quest for revenge. Will she heed the advice of others or get to the place of no return.

Men At Work: A Team of One

Hey Gals & Guys,

Y’all thought I’ll miss this? No way, that knuckle head they call my twin, Kammy,  is coming up and I gotta be a part of this.  You heard from my Momsie, from Stone Cold, you also know him as Rasheed, You also heard from my sis in law, Ibiso… now clear the stage it’s my turn.

Unoma says she wanted to me to talk about how my work ethic was influenced by not growing up with a father. That’s simple. It made me rely on myself. Me , myself and I were doing this thing. I wasn’t relying on people or a God who let the people that serve Him suffer.  I know I sounds terrible but for years that was my mindset. Those that have read my story in  Anchored By Love know how the story ends but for years I was really angry. I threw myself into my work and became a team of one.

Before we talk about me, I want to share some practical advantages and disadvantages of working in teams. This can be adopted for those running their business or working a 9 to 5

  1. Two heads are better than one. With more minds you have more ideas. I will also tell you the bad side of this.
  2. You get the necessary support and you are more propelled toward implementation.
  3. Confidence booster. You are able to glean to the stronger qualities of other where you are weaker.

  1. Just as two heads are better than one, too many chefs spoil the soup. For every advantage of working in a team, there is the flip side.  Too many people, too many ideas, and too many “experts” to come to an agreement and achieve a good result.
  2. Close minded People who force their point of views.
  3. While a team has the potential to boost up the individual members, it can also make people feel less than others. And this affects participation.

My advise to those of you that have to work in teams is to use the principles of the Bible to navigate your work environment. Make sure the fruits of the Holy Spirit show in you always

Now back to me and my past. I dared to believe that everything I had done and achieved was by my power of might. I dared to believe that I could single handedly navigate my destiny. But God being God used the thing I loved so much. The thing I know Idolized to cut me down a notch. You wanna know how? You have to read my book. But remember He is the Vine and we are the branches, we’ll only bear fruit when we remain in Him John 15:5.

This is so true, I know 🙂

Jabir Danjuma.

Oh on more things my wife is  on tomorrow. Remember to come by and show her some love.
