Tell Me Your Name

Hey there! Happy Friyay! Here is another look inside TO LIVE AGAIN. Release day March16. Enjoy!

She took in a breath. “I apologize for losing my cool there, but I didn’t like your assumption.”

“It’s not fun, is it?” He raised his thick eyebrow.

“Excuse me?” She furrowed her brows.

He chuckled. “Why do you keep excusing yourself? I’m pretty sure you heard me the first time.”

Itohan ignored him and picked up Eseosa’s file.

“It’s no fun when people assume things about you, now is it?”

She got his meaning and lowered her head. He was talking about the incident in the restaurant. She’d hoped he didn’t bring that up.

“Look, Mr. Ik—”

“Osaro.”

“Huh?”

“Osaro, my name is Osaro.”

“Oh…uhm…Osaro—”

“Don’t I deserve the pleasure of knowing your name?”

“Ms. Adolo.” She opened the red folder in front of her.

“You’re Ms. Adolo to your students. What’s your first name? Unless you want to teach me some things…”

That Thing Called Pride…

How dare they? Me? Me? Do you they not know who I am?

Those are the immediate thoughts that run through the most righteous mind when wronged. Depending on the atrocity of the other, a plan for revenge begins to build. They did this to me? Ok I will show them.

“How dare he return me like a cheap bag of potatoes? Me? Any you want me to overlook that? You tell me to thank God I dodged a bullet? Thank Him for what? A broken heart, a wounded pride? A disgraced family? Well, I have nothing to be thankful for.”~ Itohan

Those are the words of the heroine, Itohan Adolo, in To Live Again. In the heat of the moment she bares her soul in a heart wrenching rant. Is she able to control the actions that follow or will she be plunged into a web revenge so tangled that she asks the question…was it worth it?

Pride deceives and is rooted in the arrogance to believe that we have control over our future. Thereby elevating us to a god-like status.

Here are some ways we can overcome prideful thoughts that can often lead us to trouble if it festers.

  1. Repent & turn the opposite direction

2. Meditate on the word of God and trust in His Sovereignty.

3. Sit in the lowly seat & learn the benefits of humility.

Find out what happens to Itohan & her prideful quest for revenge. Will she heed the advice of others or get to the place of no return.

Behind The Key

Freedom. Access. Liberation. Knowledge. Success……Love. These are some of the symbolism of the KEY. It’s main use is to open or lock wherever room it is designed for.

Like me I’m sure you’ve heard the romantic term “key to my heart.” It’s a metaphor for one person trusting the other completely to be able to hand over such a proverbial tiny instrument that gives them full access to the other’s heart. The Bible tells us to guard our hearts. That’s not just empty talk.

Most of us get it right the first time and give the right person the key but we all know that most of the time we never get it right the first couple of times. The problem lies when we’ve been so hurt that we hold on so tight or throw away the key for the next person who might just be the person God has ordained for us.

Behind this hurt lies other things like pride, unforgiveness, pain and bitterness. These things stop us from living and keep us shackled to the past. Such is the case with Itohan Adolo in my upcoming release To Live Again. Shackled by scars of the past, her trust was set up wrong. But what happens when Osaro enters unto the scene? Will his love be able to roar loader than her demons? Or will the shackles of her past keep her bound?

Those Danjumas…Kammy is Bae

The response to Mended With Love has been nothing short of amazing. I had so much fun penning the novel that I’m glad the readers loved it.

If you haven’t met the Danjumas what are you waiting on. Check through this blog and meet the brothers, Meanwhile let me share a partial review of the final book in the series by Romance in Color

You taught me that a life without love isn_t one worth living. You mended my damaged heart with your love, showing me how not only to receive love but give it. With your help, my life

“I like how Unoma weaves spirituality into her stories without coming off too “preachy.” I understand that Christian Fiction may not be everyone’s preference, but Unoma Nwankwor is such a gifted writer that you will find yourself completely engaged in the story. MENDED WITH LOVE is bound together with romance, love, forgiveness, redemption, Biblical truths, great music and food. I highly recommend this novel. While you are at it, I recommend that you also read the books about the other Danjuma brothers: Rasheed, A SCOOP OF LOVE, and Jabir, ANCHORED BY LOVE. You can thank me later.”~ Romance In Color Review
