A few days ago, I released a short. New Year’s Kiss is a prequel to my upcoming Away to Africa series. It features Arinze & Jasmine. Today I’m sharing a sample.
“Yea, I know. Love you for it, but I gotta go.” I disconnected the phone, right when my skin started prickling with goosebumps. I was responding to his aura. Setting the wine glass down, I stood as he climbed up the stairs of the raised gazebo. He hadn’t said anything, but his eyes ogled me. I cleared my throat again as he moved into my personal space. I wasn’t a short woman, but I had to step back to meet his eyes. That, and I was becoming dizzy under his spell. My heart thudded, skipped, and leaped for this man. A man I didn’t know.
“You’ve been avoiding me all day.” His raspy baritone sent a shiver down my spine.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” The aromatic, woody fragrance he had on sent my mind into a frenzy. “I don’t even know you.”
“We need to correct that. Arinze. To whom do I have the pleasure…?”
Where Arinze was concerned, Jas didn’t stand a chance. Or did she?
