My Musings

#MotivationMonday: Win the Battle.

It’s the beginning of another beautiful week and can you believe it, the first day of February! Wow! Where did the time go? I am so finiky about time because it waits on no one and once lost, it can never be recovered.

One of the things that make us lose time is procrastination. Procrastination can be born mostly out of two things: lack of discipline or fear. The first one is easy, you just need to as my sissy would say “get your life together” It’s the second one that I would like to talk to you briefly about this morning. Fear.

We ae all scaed of something and it takes a special skill and effort to fight that fear. For me I have come to the point where I view fear with the mindset of,what is the worst that can happen? You can win or loose and learn something about the experience so you can do better. Being believers in the most High God, the worst thing that could happen is allowing time pass you by without you even trying. So why are we afraid?

Simple

Something or someone or even we have allowed the mind to confuse us into believing we cannot do it. There are so many times in the Bible we are told to fear not. Fear not. Fear not. The mind is a constant battlefield and we can only cast down all the imaginations that rear their ugly head with faith and hope. We will never know what is on the other side of the door if we do not try and keep trying until something happens.

Over the weekend, my fellow Nigerian, Uzo Aduba won a SAG award and her acceptance speech was so on point. Keep working, stand in line, don’t give up. If you don’t succeed the first time, you might be discouraged and want to give up. However, it takes faith to win the battle against defeat and despair. But whatever you do. Don’t give up!
