My Musings

#MotivationMonday See It. Dream It. Be It.

sexy and beautiful woman in the seaGood Monday Morning!

It’s a new day and a new chance to make a difference. This weekend I did a lot of things, one among them was watch the Essence #BlackWomenInHollywood luncheon. This is a yearly event, however it had never been televised until this year. Oprah Winfrey graciously televised it on OWN TV.

I cried, cheered and was in awe of the awesomeness of the ceremony. If you follow me, by now you should know that I firmly believe that we were all created by God for a purpose. I think He comes up with the plan( dream, purpose) then reaches back and picks a body then wraps it around that purpose…LOL. Just like a factory plant. Anyway, I say this to say that the women I watched are all living their dreams and purposes but it didn’t come easy. Here are a few quotes I found powerful

“I dreamed the biggest dream I could find.”~ Viola Davis

“Our fears can be our greatest liberators”~ Gugu Mbatha Raw (Belle, Beyond The Lights)

“We all experience fear but courage is moving fiercely through that fear”~ Regina King

“Stop waiting for permission” ~Ava DuVernay

“For every no, the mere existence of ….. Should give you hope. (feel in the blank with the person you admire, a mentor) ~Iman Milner

Be Blessed.

  1. Dear Unoma, I’m glad you caught the event televised. It is always encouraging and a lovely experience to see our distant sisters be honored and share why they persevered. Thx for sharing. Looking forward to connecting with you in the FB group we are members of. 😇
