I Can Only Imagine

Stairway_To_Heaven_by_Tizz77Can you imagine what it will be like when you stand in the presence of God. What will you say? What will He say? What will heaven be like? I know what the bible says but actually being there…will He say “Well Done” or would you need a moment to go back and try again..but then again you cant. Okay I know I’m rambling so let me give you a little background.

When I was a kid, wearing a new attire, and making sure my friends admired it, was my sole reason for going to church. I am the only girl in a family of five so my mom would make sure I had the best and Sunday couldn’t come fast enough for me to show off. Then here comes high school, I was actually introduced to Jesus, but in all my love for Him, I refused to read the book of Revelation. I hated End Time movies, and any predictions anybody wanted to give. Hey, I was a high schooler…I didn’t wanna hear about how I will die and go to some place. Cool as Jesus was, I was not ready to meet him.

Now that I look back on those times I can only smile. It seems like a life time ago, so much has changed. I have gotten to know Him on a more personal level and with all the premature deaths happening around, I begin to wonder about my own mortality. Hear me now…In no way am I planning to leave this earth soon, but like it or not it will happen to all of us one day. And there are no do -overs

So this is my plea that we should all live each day with meaning and purpose. Draw closer those who matter most, drop those who distract you from your God given assignment, share the good news of Christ, laugh more, live a little, life is short, you can be here one moment and be gone the next.

I’m not trying to write a downer, far from it, but like I did so many years ago, pretending it won’t happen doesn’t actually stop it from happening. I had a post full of encouragement and motivation but this is what the Holy Spirit planted in my heart to share.

I have written out the chorus to my new favorite song, which expresses my sentiment concisely …

I Can Only Imagine by Tamela Mann. Listen and enjoy!

To be surrounded by your glory

What would my heart feel

Will I dance for you Jesus

Or in awe of you be still

Will I stand in your presence

Or to my knees will I fall

Will I sing Alleluia

Or will I be able to speak at all

I can only Imagine

Be Blessed

  1. Unyime is right, that is my favourite part as well and a thought that is always simmering in my head especially the bit about letting go of people that are distracting you……

  2. This is an inspiring share. Loved this part most, “So this is my plea that we should all live each day with meaning and purpose. Draw closer those who matter most, drop those who distract you from your God given assignment, share the good news of Christ, laugh more, live a little, life is short, you can be here one moment and be gone the next.” This sums it all up.

  3. My dear, if this is not motivational and encouraging I don’t know what else is. You needed to share it. I needed to read it as others do. That’s what matters. Thanks for obeying his prompting and putting it down for all to see.

I can only imagine what it would be like to see Jesus face to face. Wow! Then I would know the true mening of Awesome and Glorious.
